Our Story

Get to know us better: discover the history of Farncombe and the unique vision shaping our corner of the Cotswolds…

Estate Map

Farncombe Estate has been privately owned by the same family for over 40 years. Originally a residential training school and headquarters for a global security company, the estate has recently been transformed by a multi-million-pound investment. We now represent something unique in UK hospitality – a wholly integrated countryside estate led by three multi-award winning boutique hotels: Dormy House Hotel & Spa, Foxhill Manor and The Fish Hotel.

A bit about us

Our Setting

Spread over a hillside with spectacular views across the Vale of Evesham (and Wales on a clear day), the estate is a glorious sprawl of forest and field, riddled with rambling trails and cycle routes.

It’s a landscape perfect for picnicking, sunrise jogs and sunset strolls. Although it can feel blissfully set apart from the bustle of everyday life, Farncombe is within remarkably easy reach of many of the Cotswolds’ biggest attractions.

Our Vision

At Farncombe, our aim is simple but ambitious: we want to be the most memorable hill in the world.

For some, we’re a country playground for extraordinary events; for others, we’re a place to escape from the rigours of the everyday world. But whether you come to Farncombe Estate for the sublime scenery or the fabulous food; to get out and about or to rest and rejuvenate, you can be sure you’ll cherish your time here for many years to come.

Hygge before it was cool

‘Hygge’ (pronounced 'Hoo-ga') is originally a Scandinavian term describing the warm, cosy feeling that comes with enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Farncombe Estate’s owners are originally from Denmark, and the hygge philosophy they brought with them is at the heart of the look and feel of all three of our hotels. Each one promises simple, Scandi-inspired design, comfy corners to hide away in, open fires to curl up in front of, and fantastic food and wine to share with friends and family.

Responsible Hospitality

We take our impact on the world very seriously, and strive to ensure that every new project we undertake is guided by consideration for the environment. We have recently adopted green energy sources wherever possible – it now powers the Estate offices, all of Foxhill Manor and the Hilly Huts at the Fish Hotel.
