Assistant Accountant – Farncombe Estate
Job reference:
Location: Broadway
Contract type: Permanent
Job type: Full-Time
Salary: £28,279 per annum plus a share of gratuities (approximately £2000-£2500 per annum)

We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Farncombe Estate.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to build their accounting career within a commercially focused hospitality business. It’s a varied role offering exposure across management accounting, treasury, financial control, audit and transactional finance, giving you the chance to develop a well-rounded understanding of the finance function and take on greater responsibility as your experience grows.

What you’ll be doing:

* Supporting the preparation of financial information, including balance sheet reconciliations, analysis and reporting
* Assisting with day-to-day treasury and cash management activities
* Preparing daily sales reporting and maintaining strong ledger controls
* Investigating and resolving finance queries as they arise
* Supporting statutory audit and tax compliance, working alongside the wider Finance team and external advisers
* Helping across purchase and sales ledger activities to build a strong understanding of our end-to-end finance function
* Analysing revenue, costs and operational performance to provide useful insight across the business
* Helping us review and improve our financial processes and internal controls

The details:
—————————————————-

* £28,279 per annum plus a share of gratuities (approximately £2000-£2500 per annum)
* 40 hours per week working Monday – Friday
* Food provided for lunches
* This role requires on-site working

What we’re looking for:
—————————————————-

* Someone looking to develop and progress their career in accounting and finance
* AAT qualified or part-qualified would be beneficial, although we’re open to candidates at different stages of their accounting journey
* You don’t need to be fully CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified
* A good head for numbers with strong attention to detail and accuracy
* An organised approach and the confidence to manage a varied workload
* Someone who’s naturally curious and happy to investigate when something doesn’t quite add up
* A positive, professional approach and someone who enjoys being part of a supportive team
* Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Yooz purchase-to-pay software or Hart property management software would be an advantage, but isn’t essential

Why this role?
—————————————————-

This isn’t a role where you’ll be stuck doing the same task day in, day out. You’ll get exposure to different areas of finance and work with colleagues across the business, helping you build both your technical accounting knowledge and your commercial understanding.
As your confidence and experience grow, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop your role within the Finance team.
Why you’ll love working here:

* 30 days’ holiday, rising to 35 after 5 years
* Birthday lunch on us
* Mental health first aiders & wellbeing support
* High Street discounts & cashback card
* Estate-wide discounts on dining, stays, spa products & more
* £1,000 to spend however you wish in our recognition programme
* £1,000 when you refer a friend
* Optional low-cost healthcare plan
* Free financial planning advice
* Fully funded apprenticeships
* Career and development opportunities across Farncombe Estate

At Farncombe, we’re proud to be a B Corp certified company and members of the Hoteliers’ Charter, committed to creating a workplace built on respect, fairness, equality, diversity and opportunity, with wellbeing and development at the heart of what we do.

If you’re ambitious, love working with numbers and are looking for a finance role where you can learn, develop and make a genuine contribution to the business, we’d love to hear from you.
